Ohio is a Piano

Thank you Andy Woodruff, for some entertaining notes on Ohio. 88 counties in Ohio, 88 keys on a piano; Ohio is a Piano.

The American Crow - Part 1

The American Crow is a large passerine (perching bird) that form the genus Corvus in the family Corvidae. Social, mysterious and incredibly intelligent, the American Crow has long been an object of folklore and mythology. See Betty in action:

The Militant Guild of Rural Tailors

We have admired The Militant Guild of Rural Tailors for a long time, the blog is well written and gorgeous. Produced by a research team who searches for evidence of underground rogues whose mantra is Tailors against Taylorism. Brilliant, just brilliant.

August in Ohio

Means...corn on the cob. Every summer we eagerly await the sweet corn in my Uncle Kenny's fields in Kalida, Ohio. Grilled or boiled with tubs of real butter; nothing tastes better.

Honest Ohio Goods - Part I

Amongst the cornfields and church steeples in northwest Ohio sets the dignified Airstream factory. A true Ohio gem, they have been manufacturing the premiere travel trailer since the 1930's.

"Airstream began with a single man and a most singular dream. The man was Wally Byam: his dream, to build the perfect travel trailer. One that would move like a stream of air. One that would be light enough to be towed by a standard automobile. One that would provide first-class living accommodations anywhere in the world. Thus, over 70 years ago was born the first Airstream trailer."

Authentic, genuine, and venerable...in other words a classic.

Industrial Decay

Industrial Decay started as a flickr group that now has over 40,000 pictures and 4500 members and the blog is a selection of the week's best photos. These dystopian images both intrigue and bewilder the viewer with scenes of lonesome decay. In a world progressing faster and faster, it's always good to stop once in a while and look at where our roots lie.

Paint it Gray

In the past year or so we've made some pretty huge cosmetic changes to the interior of our store. We've painted the floor ceiling and walls, and even some of our store fixturing pieces. Here's a list of (Sherwin-Williams) grays we recommend for your very own painting projects:
